Job Summary

This transitioned position will be reporting directly to the Manager, Health Services Training.  The Health Services Training Project Manager is responsible for the administration of day-to-day operations of an assigned portfolio of Health Services departments and/or projects  including but not limited to supporting the Manager and making recommendations in the strategic planning, initiation, tracking, management, evaluation, and development of key Health Services training needs.  The Health Services Training Project Manager is responsible for the facilitation, revision, and updates of existing and the development of new policies and procedures as it relates to Health Services Training.  The Health Services Training Project Manager is responsible for conducting a Health Services training needs assessment and assist in the development of a training program based on the needs of all of their assigned Health Services departments.  The Health Services Training Project Manager will communicate closely with the Manager of Health Services Training and Director of Provider Support Services to ensure consistency and standardization of the training program across Health Services.  The Health Services Training Project Manager will be open to additional projects in support of their assigned health services departments and organizational strategic initiatives as assigned by the Manager, Health Services Training and/or Director of Provider Support Services.

Duties

● Administer day-to-day operations of an assigned portfolio and/or projects of the health services departments to include but not limited to develops, manages project plans and schedules, budget resources, project artifacts and supports centralized document repository. Identifies, tracks and mitigates risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies; provides timely status reports and proactively escalates issues for resolution; performs project reviews and drives continued progress for project success. Supports in strategic planning, tracking, management, annual evaluation of training program, and development of key Health Services training needs. Maintains confidentiality in compliance with all HIPAA requirements.  Communicates to Manager and/or Director any barriers to completing assignments or daily work in an efficient and effective manner.  Supports L.A. Care’s Mission, Vision, and Values in daily performance.

● Facilitate, develop, revise, and update training materials for their assigned portfolio of Health Services department as it relates to the initiative and goals of the Health Services department.  Assess, update, revise, gather, and track existing training materials and the development of new policies and procedures, workflows, etc. as it relates to Health Services Training. Develops, maintains, and implements departmental policies and procedures.

● Conduct a Health Services training needs assessment and develop, maintain, and evaluate the effectiveness of a standardized training program based on the needs of all of their assigned Health Services departments.  Communicate closely with the Manager of Health Services Training and/or Director of Provider Support Services to ensure consistency and standardization of the training program across Health Services.  Leads, coordinates, and prepares for various meetings as it relates to Health Services training of assigned Health Services departments as necessary and appropriate. Meets with business owners and unit staff, management, third party contractors/vendors, cross-functional project team members and other department resources at least weekly or as needed to ensure effective management and momentum of projects, as well as organizational strategic initiatives.

● Conducts annual needs assessments for Health Services training needs.  Ensures executive summaries are submitted to the Leadership Team for review and approval in a timely manner. Upon Leadership approval, manages the creation of definitive project execution plans (Plan of Record). Willing to take on additional

projects in support of their assigned health services departments and organizational strategic initiatives as assigned by the Manager of Health Services Training and/or Director of Provider Support Services.

● Designs, delivers, and/or coordinates training programs using different modalities; ILT, e- learning, Web based, etc. In partnership with other Training & Development (TD) staff and organization trainers using appropriate instructional methods, techniques, materials, and equipment. Conducts needs analysis, timeline/resource estimations, assist with knowledge transfer and train-the-trainer programs. Follows ADDIE model or similar instructional design process on all training projects. Writes
behavioral objectives, tests, training methodology, and course materials using instructional design theories and modalities. Work closely with Human Resources Training and Design team as needed.

● Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Bachelor's Degree in Health Science or Health Information in Health care related field

Experience


Required:
● With Bachelor's Degree: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, designing, developing, and delivering in person and online training courses.

● Basic work experience utilizing Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Quality Assurance (QA) methodology standards and best practices

● Demonstrated experience in the development of requirements, specifications, design, process/flow Diagrams, test and implementation plans.

● Experience in business process and cost benefit analysis.

● Knowledge and experience with eLearning tools and internet technology, including in-depth proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, SCORM, Adobe Captivate, or other rapid eLearning and video development software/tools is required.

Preferred:
● With Master's Degree: minimum of three 2 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering in person and online training courses.

● Experience working in a health care setting strongly preferred.

● Knowledge and experience with Adobe Flash.  

Equivalent Experience:
● With High School Diploma/GED: minimum of 6-8 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering in-person and online training courses..

● With Associate's Degree: minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering in person and online training courses.
