What We Do

Established in 1997, L.A. Care Health Plan is an independent public agency originally created by the state of California to provide health coverage to low-income Los Angeles County residents. Serving more than 2 million members in five health plans, including two plans providing affordable coverage for the community at large, we make sure our members get the right care at the right place at the right time.

Whether we’re participating in large scale initiatives such as the annual Care Harbor/L.A. free clinic, hosting community workshops, handing out water at the L.A. PRIDE parade or biking the streets of L.A. during CicLAvia events, the employees of L.A. Care are out in the community volunteering their time to help others.
