Job Summary

The Actuarial Services Financial Analyst III will report directly to a manager (HCA), in support of all HCA functions and needs. Responsibilities include production of monthly and ad hoc health care reports; respond to requests; analysis and presentation of results, support for Department actuaries; health care reporting for compliance with requirements of Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS), Plan Partners, contracted providers, County of Los Angeles, and other revenue or payment sources; Legal services support; other support of the Director of Health Care Analytics as directed. Interfaces and serves as liaison with multiple internal and external departments.


Report Design: Timely, useful, accurate and useful data reports.


Report production and documentation (monthly and ad hoc).


Actuarial support: prompts and accurate support to meet the Actuaries needs.


Compliance: Meets deadlines form Government or contractors.


Legal Services: Meets deadlines with accurate data and support the legal department's arguments.


Perform other duties as assigned. 

Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Related Field
In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Education Preferred

Master's Degree


At least 3-5 years of finance or managed healthcare experience with the demonstrated experience on the following list of stated  knowledge, experience and/ or skills.


Minimum of 3-5 years of health care experience and have strong health Care industry knowledge.


Working knowledge of managed health care. 


Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, excel and work, data retrieval programming languages.


Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. 


Strong oral and written communication skills.


Excellent data management skills. 


Knowledge of accounting. 


Medical, Medicare and MHC knowledge preferred.
