Job Summary
The Advisor Compliance and Strategy is responsible for driving the execution of enterprise-wide compliance initiatives through cross-functional coordination, program management, and integration of compliance strategies throughout L.A. Care.
This position translates enterprise strategy into actionable compliance initiatives and measurable outcomes. The Advisor drives cross functional integration to ensure compliance is embedded enterprise-wide, supports and manages compliance analytics, metrics, and performance dashboards, and leads change management initiatives that modernize and mature the compliance function.
Serving as the operational driver behind the compliance agenda, this position collaborates across departments to deliver on key compliance priorities and ensure alignment with the Annual Compliance Work Plan, Technology Roadmap and other large cross-functional initiatives. This position embeds compliance best practices throughout the organization. The Advisor partners with multiple teams to identify barriers, remove obstacles, and drive implementation with a focus on outcomes, integration, and transparency.
This position collaborates with key stakeholders to review programs, projects, processes, procedures, and policies; and conducts end-to-end root cause analysis to enhance and improve outcomes and remediate issues to comply with the national and statewide standards and regulations.
Provides expert advice to various teams, including program, and customer service, on various relevant topics.
Duties
Lead tactical execution of enterprise compliance initiatives by coordinating planning, prioritization, and progress tracking across departments.
Translate enterprise strategy into actionable compliance initiatives and measurable outcomes.
Drive cross functional integration to embed compliance practices across the enterprise.
Support and manage compliance analytics, metrics, and performance dashboards.
Lead change management initiatives to modernize and mature the compliance function.
Facilitate cross functional work groups and integration forums to align business units with compliance objectives and resolve barriers to progress.
Embed compliance controls and protocols into core enterprise workflows, projects, and systems.
Track initiative milestones, key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementation metrics, escalating delays or risks to ensure timely resolution.
Prepare and develop status reports, dashboards, and executive briefings for internal committees and leadership.
Support the initiative delivery by managing timelines, deliverables, meeting coordination, and stakeholder communication.
Ensure activities under the Annual Compliance Work Plan are supported, tracked, and delivered in collaboration with compliance partners.
Lead working sessions, document action items, and ensure ownership and accountability across functional teams.

Create and lead adoption of new compliance processes, ensuring proper communication and training where needed.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, compliance subject matter experts (SMEs), and senior management to sustain alignment across regulatory priorities.
Represent the Compliance Department in director-level and above leadership forums, contributing to strategic discussions and enterprise alignment.
Serve as a visible leader within the Compliance leadership team, exemplifying professionalism, accountability, and collaboration consistent with L.A. Care’s core values.
Promote a culture of high performance and collaboration across compliance teams to strengthen execution and results. Lead by example to drive culture change, foster trust, and cultivate a standard of excellence in compliance operations.
Work closely with senior leaders to provide operational support and insight on compliance execution risks.
Assist in preparing content for internal working groups, audit readiness sessions, and regulatory inquiries.
Analyze data and provide presentation on status of areas of responsibilities on an as needed basis in support of department operations.
Partner with the management to communicate compliance and operational priorities and provide feedback or follow-ups to key stakeholders.
Act as the point of contact for key strategic initiatives.
Provide expert advice to various business units on relevant topics within the organizational standards, national and state-wide compliance.
Conduct research and analysis of business performance and improvements with key stakeholders to document current state, identify gaps and present remediation plan/options to leadership. Lead the implementation of initiatives and monitor for successful outcomes.

Experience
Required:
At least 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, project management, or operations within a regulated environment (Medi-Cal, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.).
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
Experience in preparing dashboards, implementation status reports, and performance tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, Jira).
Preferred:
Experience supporting senior executives or Chief of Staff-level positions in compliance or healthcare strategy.
Experience in data analysis, understanding payment rates, and managing healthcare costs.
Experience developing compliance dashboards or analytics reports.
Experience working in a performance-driven compliance environment.
