Job Summary


The Business Development Specialist II will support the Senior Director of Sales & Marketing and the Director of Business Development and Sales in the development, analysis and dissemination of all standard sales and productivity reports and customized analytics as required to support all direct lines of business. In addition, this position will support the Directors in analyzing market trends and data to identify opportunities to enhance marketing and sales tools to support the internal and field sales team. The position will be responsible for supporting the Director and Supervisors in the development and logistics surrounding outreach marketing events to support all direct lines of business. This will include managing the relationship with external stakeholders that include our contracted provider network, Enrollment Entities and their Certified Enrollment Counselors, contracted General Agencies, and other strategic partners. This position will support the Director in the development of the General Agency program and the administration of the quarterly audit/compliance oversight program required by the Internal Audit division of Compliance.

Duties

Maintaining expertise on all direct lines of business eligibility, enrollment process, and other program specifications.

Provides regular and timely informational updates for all direct lines of business that include legislative changes, organizational policy advisories and/or revisions, and regulatory guidelines specific to marketing that may impact the sales units.

Development of the analytics surrounding the strategic goals and initiatives of the sales units.

Demonstrates proficient business writing skills that facilitate communication with consumers, internal and external stakeholders. Uses proper phone and email etiquette when dealing with consumers, internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrates efficient use of L.A. Care’s proprietary system and other required tools which include, but are not limited to, PDM, MEIS, Provider Search portal, Goldmine, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Access, TTY and Cisco UCCX.

Development and planning of targeted outreach marketing strategies to support identified events sponsored by L.A. Care and managed by outside vendors. 

Participation in internal and external strategy meetings to develop the sales infrastructure and processes to support all direct lines of business.

Performance of quarterly audits of the 5 contracted General Agencies as required by Compliance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:
Minimum 0-2 years experience in healthcare administration, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.

Skills

Required:
Strong expertise in the Covered California program, Medicare Advantage, Cal MediConnect and Medi-Cal managed care. 

Excellent written and communication skills. 

Ability to conduct informational presentations to individuals and groups. 

Ability to work independently, flexible work hours, and ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). 

Licenses/Certifications Required

Covered CA PBE certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Plan Based Enroller (PBE)
