Job Summary
The Learning and Development Specialist II is a critical thinker who is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, communicating, testing and verifying requirements for learning and development engagements (i.e. required and general training; developing learning artifacts; etc.) and learning strategy services delivered or coordinated by Learning and Development. This position is responsible for conducting functional training across all Business Units, Departmental Policies, Procedures (operations), New Employee and Manager on boarding, and any additional work processes as needed.
Additionally the Learning and Development Specialist II supports the development of innovative and engaging Instructor-Led Training (ILT) training courses and Learning and Development programs. This role will conduct needs analysis, timeline/resource estimations, and assist with knowledge transfer and train-the-trainer programs.
Duties
Designs, delivers, and/or coordinates training programs using different modalities; ILT, e-learning, Web based, etc. In partnership with other Training & Development (TD) staff and organization trainers using appropriate instructional methods, techniques, materials, and equipment. Conducts needs analysis, timeline/resource estimations, assist with knowledge transfer and train-the-trainer programs. Follows the ADDIE model or related instructional design processes on all training projects
Develops and maintains training project plans for developed courses; reviews trainings routinely to update and revise, as needed. Evaluates and monitors training participants results and provides participants and management with data and feedback on individual performance. Communicates and coordinates with Subject Matter Experts (SME's) and Department trainers to assess, design, and modify training. Assists with providing appropriate training to facilitators.
Applies alternative training mediums and methods (self-study, online, blended, simulations) to increase training effectiveness and to accommodate distance learning, learning style and cultural differences. Writes behavioral objectives, tests, training methodology, and course materials using instructional design theories and modalities.
Managing databases and instructional hardware/software for documentation, testing, and maintaining all training materials including eLearning modules, scenarios, job aids and course materials. Works closely with the Learning Technologies System Analyst and provides backup as needed.

Experience
Required:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering in-person and online training courses.
Knowledge and experience with eLearning tools and internet technology, including in-depth proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, Shareable Content Object Reference Mode (SCORM), Adobe Captivate, or other rapid eLearning and video development software/tools is required.
Preferred:
Experience working in a health care setting strongly preferred.
Experience with Success Factors strongly preferred.
