Job Summary

The Principal Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for the end-to-end design and architecture of the L.A. Care Enterprise Data platform. Develops practical road maps for the Enterprise Data Platform. Defines the overall core Enterprise Data platform architecture, including Tools and technologies, Extract, Load, Transform/Extract, Transform, Load (ELT/ETL) processes, logical and physical data models and recommends appropriate solutions and approaches to support the implementation of the roadmap.

 

Partners with the Business Intelligence (BI) and data architects to ensure logical and physical data models support the analytic and non-analytic needs of the business. Provides technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams, ensuring new initiatives enable effective management. Collaborates with key business users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management, Data Governance and delivery. Provides expert level technical knowledge and business support to the team.

Duties

Collaborate with business and Information Technology (I.T.) partners and translate business strategic needs into architectural requirements and provide direct technical lead expertise in implementing data solutions.

 

Technical solution review of Enterprise Data Platform architecture.

 

Develop solutions to manage end to end life cycle of enterprise data management including enabling Data Integrations, BI and Analytics, Data Governance and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions.

 

Develop logical and physical models within the different data layers of the Enterprise Data Platform.

 

Design data pipelines and solutions that are interoperable and reusable driving delivery efficiency and enable self-service capabilities.

 

Design Data and Integration solutions specific to Healthcare Interoperability and integration with analytics and non-analytics applications.

 

Serve as a technical lead in aligning architecture capabilities with business strategies with respect to goals and objectives.

 

Develop, maintain and communicate reference architectures and architectural roadmaps for overall transparency and alignment. Define roadmap and strategies for integration, data, BI and analytics, Data Governance and AI application architectures.

 

Demonstrate and obtain business and technical buy in to proposed solutions.

Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field
In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Education Preferred

Master's Degree

Experience

Required:

At least 7 years of experience in the design and building of Cloud Native Enterprise Data platforms.

 

Hands-on experience working on at least one of the Cloud native data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or similar technologies.

 

Experience working with business stakeholders and leadership to translate business requirements to actionable data solutions.

 

Experience implementing data solutions supporting AI capabilities at an enterprise scale.

 

Experience working on all aspects of data management including data governance, data catalogs, metadata management, reference data management and master data management.

Skills

Required:

Excellent understanding of Cloud technologies, Data platforms, Data Transformation tools, data modeling, SQL and ETL/ELT.

 

Ability to facilitate meetings and delegate responsibilities.

 

Ability to functionally understand the enterprise sources of data and end to end data ecosystem across the organization.
