Job Summary

The Production Control Analyst III are responsible for the design, development, setup, and coordinating production schedules in accordance with standard procedures. Oversee and ensure preparation and execution of all processes associated with batch production, file transfers (inbound/outbound), monitoring successful job completion based on established success criteria, perform systems analysts tasks within established policies, procedures and guidelines related to data production cycles and corresponding output.

 

This position is also responsible for interfacing with business partners, Information Technology (I.T.) support staff and management regarding production job status, correcting and maintaining the accuracy of production information and reports. Ensures proper and timely coordination and follow through of data production job process flows across all platforms (IBM, LINUX, and NT).  Duties will also include the implementation, automation and integration of production jobs, maintenance of process and operations documentation related to job submissions, balance and control and operating procedures on all platforms. Mentor Production Control Analysts on new and enhanced production processes and controls.

 

This position is also responsible for ensuring that timeliness, milestones and deliverables of data files from/to the State, other L.A. Care Trading Partners redistributed via electronic data transmission (established File Transfer Protocol (FTP)) are met.

Duties


Provide guidance to the development team in designing new jobs/job flows. 

 

Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements.

 

Adjust job sequence and schedule for productivity.

 

Provide recommendations to streamline production control procedures to improve runtime.

 

Write new scripts as needed to process files or generate reports.

 

Complete documentation and perform testing of batches as needed.

 

Maintain production control schedules for timely delivery.

 

Work with support team to troubleshoot job schedule issues and technical incidents.

 

Create and maintain job schedules for production environment.

 

Perform daily analysis and reporting of production status.

 

Provide on-call support for production environment.

 

Assist in developing new production control processes to reduce outages.

 

Assist in implementing enhancements and changes in production environment.

 

Monitor alerts to provide early warning awareness and to take appropriate actions.

 

Track production incidents and work with cross-functional teams for resolution.

 

Ensure all production jobs follow change management procedures.

 

Adhere to security policies to maintain data confidentiality.

 

Document technical and operational procedures for reference purposes.

 

Perform other duties as assigned.

In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience

Required:

At least 5 years of experience  in a large data processing environment with 3 years of Production Control.

 

Working knowledge troubleshooting windows server applications.

 

Working knowledge in running scripts to process data files for submission.

 

Working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows domains and file permissions structure.

 

Working knowledge and ability to understand interdependencies and predecessors of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) production jobs to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve data transmission problems and issues.

 

Skills

Ability to lead a group of Production Control Analysts and guide development teams on designing production control.

 

Willingness to write documentation and perform testing as needed.

Participate in the Production Control on-call rotation.

 

Knowledge and work experience utilizing data transmission protocols such as SFTP, HTTP.
