Job Summary

The Quality Improvement (QI) Project Specialist II is responsible for providing project management support to the department's project managers, who may be responsible for department projects and processes.  This position will use his/her analytical ability to identify resources needed for each project and will work to define roles and responsibilities for these resources and to develop report cards and status updates on project deliverables and project issues. This position will develop reporting sufficient to allow each project team to rapidly assess the current state of their project in relation to timelines and deliverables.  The Project Specialist will work with QI staff to facilitate the updating of relevant policies and procedures.  The Project Specialist will work with different operating units to ensure subject matter experts are available to the project teams when necessary.

Duties

Collaborates with various stakeholders within the department and organization to plan, develop, implement and evaluate projects and programs, manages project activities, collaborates with project team members, develops measurable project goals and objectives and monitors progress toward achievement. 
     
Writes and disseminates work plans and project documents, including procedures, proposals, progress reports and presentations. Serves as liaison between the work group and the Business unit by using analytical ability to identify and track current deliverables. 

 

Processes member/provider materials through appropriate channels to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met (Podio). Ensures compliance with contracted services and performance metrics.  Facilitates timely review and payment of invoices (with allocation of costs to the appropriate department(s)).

     
Prepares agendas for meetings, documents key decisions and collaborates with team members to develop project collateral.  Manages and facilitates related meetings, trainings, etc., with various internal and external staff and stakeholders.       

 

Prepares and maintains project documentation of procedures, proposals, deliverables, etc. Provides progress reports of the projects and helps facilitate the timely completion of deliverables, requests for services, etc.  Provides well thought-out recommendations for enhancements, new strategies, etc., as well as related informative presentations (as warranted).

 

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Required

Associate's Degree
In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience

Required:
A minimum of 0-2 years of experience of performing project management work, preferably in healthcare environment.

 

Experience with the planning, management and delivery of successful programs and projects.

Skills

Required:
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot all project issues in a timely manner.

 

Excellent interpersonal skills to work alongside other project employees to meet all client specifications and requirements.

 

Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software tools.
