Job Summary

The Strategic Planning Coordinator II provides administrative and logistical support for the Strategic Planning department and other departments reporting to the Strategic Planning Sr. Director, including the Community Benefits department. The position provides coordination and logistical support for ongoing Strategic Planning activities that are enterprise-wide and highly visible as well as work that supports the success of L.A. Care's products. The position also provides logistical support for Community Benefits grant making activities. The position also provides calendaring and administrative support for Strategic Planning, Community Benefits, and the Executive Director of Medi-Cal product.


Prepares and formats documents including presentations, reports, reporting templates, and other documents. Coordinates and compiles submissions for reports requiring input from multiple departments. (25%)

Provides support for Community Benefits RFP processes including scheduling and coordinating bidders conferences and review panels. Conducts Community Benefits routine activities such as logging in progress reports and other grantee materials. (20%)

Conducts scheduling and calendar management for Strategic Planning, Community Benefits, and the Executive Director of Medi-Cal Product. Performs administrative activities including travel, ordering supplies, and service requests. (20%)

Maintains the project action plan, coordinates with other departments and external speakers or guests, and provides logistical support for enterprise-wide meetings and retreats, in consultation with Strategic Planning staff. (15%)

Prepares agendas and plans monthly Strategic Planning/Community Benefits joint staff meetings. (5%)

Represents Strategic Planning, Community Benefits, and Medi-Cal Product for enterprise activities such as employee engagement, employee wellness, and other activities. (5%)

Performs other duties as assigned. (10%) 

Education Required

High School Diploma/or High School Equivalency Certificate

Education Preferred

Associate's Degree


A minimum of 0-2 years of administrative work experience.

Experience in healthcare or strategic planning.



Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

Ability to use Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. 

Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Additional Information

To be truly successful in this position, you must have extremely strong administrative skills.   The ideal candidate will also have strategic planning experience, perferably in a heatlhcare setting.
